Sergio was born in São Paulo in 1967, but very young he moved to Recife with his parents. He started in Judo shortly after the founding of the Nagai Recife Association, when at the age of 5 he dressed for the first time his first judogi.
Technical virtuosity is one of the striking characteristics of the Nagai family and Sergio followed his father's lineage and as an athlete he was crowned champion of Pernambuco several times.
The passion for competition makes Sergio Nagai even today allow himself to participate in the master judo championships and always has his place reserved on the podium and is often the highest place that awaits him. Sergio is South American champion and Pan-American master judo runner-up and in 2019 he became six-time Brazilian master champion.
Sergio has 03 children, Luana Nagai, a black belt in Judo, Luiza and Yudi. Luiza surrendered to the passion for Rhythmic Gymnastics and Yudi still doesn't know if his father's vein will follow.
Sergio Nagai graduated in Physical Education at UFPE and works as a coach at the Nagai Recife Association, together with Silvio Nagai, he has already experienced athletes like Mariana Barros and Katherine Campos and many other athletes of national prominence.
Sergio Nagai works as a professor at the main universities and colleges in Recife and one of his differentials is his ability to develop the fight in ne-waza, in addition to an almost indefensible uchi-mata.
